Principal Oath

My Oath

·       I am committed to public education, and I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of students.

·       I will do whatever I can to make the Thompson Sixth Grade Center a safe place and a positive place for the students to learn and for the staff to work.

·       I will try to demonstrate through my words and actions that everyone in our school has value and that they play an important part in the educational process.

·       I understand that there is always more to people than “meets the eye.”  All the kids and all the adults come from unique situations at home.  Everyone has challenges that they are dealing with outside of school that can influence who they are and what they do while at school.  Being mindful of this reality, I will strive to be patient with and kind to everyone I encounter here at TSGC.

·       I will always try to make decisions that are driven by the needs of our kids, and I will work every day to lead a staff that is committed to increasing student achievement.

·       I believe that collaboration among educators is essential for providing the most effective instruction for our students, and I will try to reinforce a school culture which fosters this collaboration.

·       I will choose to believe that every staff member wants to be awesome at what they do, and so I will always try to give them the benefit of the doubt.  I will commit to providing all the support that our staff needs to be excellent in their capacity.

·       I will always try to lead by example and will strive to maintain high standards of professionalism.
